Cecada Necklace
16" long Coffin: 1-1/2"x1-1/4"x1" Sterling Silver, Cecada shedding, Velvet, Mahogany Location: VCU Class: Beginning Jewelry - Level 2 Project: Casting Professor: Ben ...? This project was based on learning how to do casting. I used a cecada shedding as my inspiration - the idea of what we do to things when they're dead. If we had cecada funerals, what would we do? Would we build a cecada coffin? Would we cast them in silver (like we do with baby shoes)? Would we make something to commemorate them? (Hence the wood...The texture on a tree, where it lives). |
